There are many times during our Christian experience when we are going through the challenges of life, or the enemy is coming in like a flood, and we need to find strength in God. Many times we feel so overwhelmed we have a hard time thinking about how to seek strength from the Lord.
Either we are overcome with griefor disappointmentor just plain weariness. It is my hope and prayer that this article will help you focus so that you can find strength in God that is promised by Him. My power works best in weakness. For when I am weak, then I am strong. In my own life when I find myself weak and feeling ready to give up, I look at whose strength I am walking in. Am I walking in my strength? Alternatively, am I accepting my weakness and relying on His strength to empower me?
Nine times out of ten, I find that once again I am relying on my strength, wisdomor intellect rather than placing my trust in His strength. The Apostle Paul learned the secret of finding strength in God. As he states in the verse above, the power of Christ works when he is in the midst of hardship. The Bible is much more than a book. It is His written love letter. Jesus called likened it to food for the soul. Many times in my life when I have found myself weak, it was because my soul was famished. When that happens, then I refresh my memory about finding strength in God with these Bible verses about strength.
When you are weak or going through the battle, I suggest that you double the amount of time and energy you are spending on soul care. Feed your soul with the word of God. It helps greatly. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong.
As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. Early on in my Christian life, I heard a teaching about prayer that taught me how to pray for an hour a day without getting bored and losing my train of thought. I have modified it over the years and posted it as a help for people who want to learn how to pray as Jesus did. Prayer is two-way communication with God. Not only do you need to speak to God but He desires to talk back to you.
If I am honest with you and myself, many times when I have gotten to the end of my rope and felt like I cannot go on, it is because I have let other things get in the way of my communication with God. I would encourage you to think about how much time you actually spend talking to God and then stopping and listening to see if He wants to say something back to your heart.
Take a moment to do an inventory of what is going on in your life. Are you obeying what God has told you to do? I am not talking about being perfect. I am talking about those things that you know God has been nudging or convicting you about. What was the last thing God told you to do? Are you still doing it? Did you let a lack of trust cause you to make an excuse not to obey?
When we are obedient to follow the leading of the Lordthen we find the strength in God we need to accomplish the task. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. The power of music is terrific.
It can touch our hearts in ways nothing else can. When you combine that power with the power of prayer, it has fantastic. There have been many times in my life when I was going through a fierce struggle, that putting in a CD of worship and praise music restored my soul and gave me new strength. O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love. When was the last time you sat down by yourself and just spent some time singing to God one on one? I think that if you do so, you will find you will find the strength you are seeking.
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. There is strength in s. When you are weak is when you need others to lift you up. Isolation will lead to eventual failure. Consider again the verse that we started this article with.
The Apostle Paul was writing to average everyday Christians that he struggled with being weak, yet he humbled himself to admit it and found the power to walk on. One of the reasons we are not willing to admit our weakness is we do not want others to think poorly of us. That is understandable but not biblical. One of the key reasons the church was founded by Jesus was to help each other in our times of weakness. Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith. I need people that will walk with me through these times.
There are safety and strength in s. He promised and sent the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and empower us with abilities beyond our own. When we become born again, the Spirit of God comes to live on the inside of us. However, at some point, we need to receive His empowerment as well.
And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. In the process of being those disciples everywhere, there were a lot of trials and tribulations that came into their lives. The Holy Spirit gave them the power to overcome those obstacles so that they were able to accomplish their mission on this earth.
